The teams do not sell their parts or bikes to the public, and they are not something you can register or ride on the road. So genuine MotoGP hardware is, for a private buyer, effectively impossible to buy.
The closest thing you can genuinely own is authentic ex-race Moto2 and Moto3 material — real racing parts, and even complete race bikes, that have actually competed in the Grand Prix paddock. MotoGP bikes are full prototypes with roughly 1000cc engines from Honda, Ducati, Yamaha, Aprilia and KTM. Moto2 runs a spec 765cc Triumph triple with chassis from Kalex and others; Moto3 runs 250cc single-cylinder KTM and Honda engines. The important part for a buyer: Moto2 and Moto3 use many of the same top-tier brands you associate with MotoGP — Öhlins suspension, Brembo brakes, Akrapovic exhausts — but unlike a MotoGP prototype, this material genuinely changes hands in the paddock.
